Seeing Family
Recently I scanned these weathered photos so I could get copies printed for myself. They are old prints and antique plates; photographs of generations on my father's side. The majority (and these three) are likely of Rose Theresa Muldoon, who emigrated from Ireland a century ago. She is the great grandmother whose cross I was given. It's so precious to have pictures like these - I'd like to know exactly who everyone is. Look at that bird on her hat! And the beautiful finger-waves in the above photo. The man could be my grandfather, Joseph, but could be her husband, Ira. They look exactly alike! He's quite young there though.

It is such a great thing to have pictures like these! She was a beautiful lady...
We have several family Bibles that have been passed down through the generations, and they're so weathered and worn-you can't help but cherish them!
what great photos to have!!! My mother has some family photos that I cherish, also. I love the above picture with the bird in the hat, so fashionable!!!! Waaaayyyy before sarah jessica parker :)
Cait, they're lovely! You had a great great grandma! (pun not intended)
Beautiful photos! Don't you just love old photos like that, that give you a glimpse into your family's lives? She was a beautiful lady, and very fashionable! ;)
I made a memorial post for my grandmother's birthday last year http://cowgirlforjesus.blogspot.com/2008/06/happy-birthday-grandma_16.html It has several old photos of her, not as old as these, but very dear to me. :)
Loved to see the photo of one of the owners of your lovely cross! (Thank you for showing me that!)
We have a prayer book from 1861 that was my great great. etc.. grandfather's on my mom's side. Also a pocket watch from my dad's side that was supposed to be passed down to the eldest sons. :) love family heirlooms! Thanks for the post!

i love these cait! My granpa is really into tracking down our ancestry, and he has some really neat old portraits, too. its so fun to look at them....one time when I lived in south america, my family and i got our portrait taken in one of those old fashioned studios where they make you look like you are from the 20's....! i thought it was really cool
