A new-ish scrapbook page, of a favorite picture from my autumn trip to Texas.
It's my lovely friend Elena playing her beautiful family piano.
I think this is my current favorite page ever.

The promised homemade candles - but only the pretty one. We made a bunch poured in waxed paper cups to make simple votives, but my favorite is this one made in a mold that was my mother's when she was little. You know I love owls (see the little porcelain phone charm on my pink phone? Silly me ;) and this goes perfectly by the vintage-looking pencil sharpener a friend gave me. It sits on 'the classy shelf,' beside my great grandmother's sewing box and the Venetian mask from Daddy.

Scrapbooking Summer

Hello ladies,
Over the past few weeks I've started getting pictures from the states organized and scrapbooked. The photos don't have a lot of detail, but I'm pretty happy with how most of the pages turned out.
On Thursday morning (well, really late Wednesday night) my dad and I leave for Japan. We'll be gone for about a week, mostly in Tokyo but also in Kyoto and possibly Hiroshima. We fly into Osaka. I'm so excited! Particularly to just wander around, find fresh local sushi, see Harajuku and the colorful youth culture, and I plan to look for a new Blythe doll! I'm more of a people-watcher than a tourist, but my dad and I will have to balance things out a bit. It's kind of for my eighteenth birthday, using the airline benefits.
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?
I'd love to go to Bosnia, the Mediterranean, and Paris again, but right now all I can think about is Japan. And this, even though it's unrelated.
