Venezia

my dad =D

Dahlia in Venice =) It was a lovely trip and Italy is so beautiful!! You can read more on my personal blog if you are interested.
(the travel case worked perfectly! I'll be hopefully working on a pattern this week, if my work gets caught up on)

Blythe Travel Case

I based it off of photos of cases people on ThisIsBlythe made. Once I get it perfected to what I want the pattern to be, hopefully I'll get a few up on etsy. People always seem to be searching for a good case.

This 20's style hat was on sale at Forever21 which was exciting as I collect old fashioned hats! Plus this one didn't look ridiculous on me.

Blythe Tailoring

This is the coat I'm trying to make.

I'm using this fabric as a test (though I like it as well) to make sure I get the seam allowance - which you have to do yourself - and all the sewing correctly. Then I'll make it again with some awesome orange retro-patterned fabric I have, and put some sort of appliques on it for Dahlia. The pattern is by oriettacat.

Do you usually make your own Blythe clothes? What about your own clothes?

re-taking photographs

Most of the photos on my etsy were awful and pretty darkly lit, so I redid a bunch last night and am pretty happy with them. The listings look a lot better now.

Also, I sold my first three dresses! They were petite ones, on This Is Blythe. Needless to say I was pretty excited.

Dahlia Oz finally gets to travel! I'm going to Venice with my dad next week, for two days, and she'll be coming with me. I've been planning on making her a carrying case, and though I should do that before the summer, sadly I won't have time this weekend.
Do any of you use carrying cases for Blythe? Did you make your own?

Joi-Opaque

Krystal and I have finally finished our first projects and put them where they can be viewed. I hope they will mean as much to you as they do to us. Either way, it's art for us and a way of expression.

You can see Krystal's work on deviant or her myspace site.
Mine is on deviant as well, sometimes, and soon on etsy.

India

India was amazing! If you're interested in reading (a lot) more, visit my personal blog.

Mademoiselle Butterfly in India

pretty terrible photos but I bought this bag which she fits perfectly in as a carrying case.
It turned out that a lot of what we did was pretty artsy...that is, after we'd scrubbed and painted everything a couple times over.
I designed and painted several of the verses we did on the walls, as well as freehand pencilled vines which were then painted, and other decor.

View from my favourite window (which I ironically ended up spending two hours scrubbing and scraping).

some older work.

As it's quite far removed from anything I do with Blythe, few of you have seen what I usually do craft-wise apart from the newest things. Generally I draw, with black ink, as you know paint is a newer thing. I like to do mostly abstract type art, partly as it's what I'm best at and can be most creative with. Here are some older drawings -

The above is called Telescope Eyes, based on the song by Eisley.
My favourite artist, Sherri DuPree, also happens to be one of their vocalists.

India

On Friday my sister and I, along with a group from our church, are off to India for a week. We will be travelling around some and working. I don't know as yet whether I will have a camera there, but I'm sure someone will take photos. I can't risk taking Dahlia but I am bringing Mademoiselle Butterfly, my petite Blythe.
When we get back I will be working harder at making prints available and figuring things out with the art souk here - perhaps in May I will have a table at the bazaar!

Say hello on flickr if you have it - I'm new and it's quite random, but would love to see your photo skills (especially as mine are severely lacking in skill and solely the result of boredom...maybe they make up for it in silliness), especially with Blythe.
