home porcelain

Hello dears, this time from back at home around the world.

I was welcomed by a squadron of large cockroaches in my tub and sink. Thank God for little brothers! We figured out they are coming up the drains, so I'm not going anywhere near my bathroom til they are properly and completely exterminated.

Darling Sprinkle gave me this award, which I would like to pass on to Jessica and Sara if they choose to take it :)

Every year when we are back in America we celebrate all the birthdays with my mom's side of the family. This year my grandmother gave me this teacup that she's owned for years. It's a dream isn't it? I love how covered in design it is. Sadly I had to leave it at her house (along with a few other pretty hope-chest-like items) for fear of breaking. Someday I'd love to have a cabinet of china tea cups - and they will not only be for display!

love,
Cait

Hi Cait!

Yeah we have the cockroach problem too at certain times of year. You just gotta kill 'em when they come up and pray that they didn't lay any eggs! :)

Hope you get the problem solved quickly!

Oh my sweet Cait, you are too dear for words! I most humbly accept your beautiful award, thank you so very much for bestowing it upon me. You've just kicked off my weekend on the loveliest of notes!

Roaches are awful pests indeed, the odd one pops up here too (so gross!). Try lining the inside rim of a tall glass jar with vasaline and placing some sort of "appealing" food in it (fruit works well, unless you have fruit flies, in which case bread or something else would be better). The theory (and it does work) there is that the roaches will climb in to get the food, but won't be able to get out again due to the stickiness of the vaseline. It's not the perfect solution, but is a chemical-free to trap at least some of them.

Thank you again very, very much for the award, honey! Hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Big hugs,
♥ Jessica

I love china. As of now, I have two sets in my hope chest and when I get married, Mother will give me her Spode set.

Drinking out of a real teacup and not a mug is so much more warm and inviting.
